About the Event

Beginner workshops are perfect for you to grab your friends, grab a drink and come make tiny trees! We’re bringing the awesome art of bonsai out of the hedged in gardens and into the streets! Or at least into your favorite bars/breweries/pubs. Bonsai Bar is a night of fun you don’t want to miss. Learn the fundamental skills and techniques behind the art of bonsai while enjoying a night out with friends! Our teachers will introduce core concepts and guide your experience as you pot, prune, and design your very own bonsai tree!

Wachusett Brewing Company was founded by three Massachusetts college students obsessed with the brewing culture and an appreciation for craft beer during their adventures of biking, canoeing, and hiking around New England. Armed with a “we can do this” attitude, the three cast off from their careers in engineering and biology to pursue their passion to make great beer.

They started with home brewing on the LaFortune family farm in Westminster in the shadow of Wachusett Mountain. After draining the farm’s well of water on multiple occasions, they were promptly asked to leave and forced to find a new home. With a custom built three-vessel brewhouse, they found their new home just down the road. It was the perfect backdrop to embody the heart and soul of the three founders. It remains our location to this day.

For the first years, the founders worked around the clock, did their own bottling during the evening with the help of community volunteers, and delivered fresh beer in an old truck.Today, Wachusett Brewing Company remains a local sanctuary of handcrafted and award-winning ales and lagers. Its roots remain deep in outdoor adventures with a focus on community and quality.

Come visit our family and friends at one of our Brew Yards and sample the wide variety of craft beers, hard ciders, hard seltzers, and handcrafted cocktails.

Workshop FAQs

No. Our events are ticketed per person, not per tree, so everyone attending must have a ticket. This is because space is limited in our venues and we need to be able to sell tickets for every seat we have available. If someone takes a seat in our space without having purchased a ticket, that means someone who purchased a ticket may not have a seat. Thank you for understanding.

Maybe! We want everyone of all ages to get to enjoy the fun of tiny trees. Luckily most of our venues are family friendly and allow those that are underage to enter with a parent/guardian. Please see the "UNDER 21 POLICY" listed above or contact the venue directly.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled event to get checked in and grab yourself a drink. Workshops start promptly as scheduled!

We do not currently have a waitlist. Tickets are first come, first serve.
